Thanakha cream

I wanted to try the cream for awhile.It is supposed to be good for pimples,whitening  and other skin ailments.  I bought the small sized one for RM 20.00. The bigger one costs  RM 30.00. I used it every day for one week until it hit  pan.  I just wet my fingers and run through the cream . It is quite soft . The smell is lemony. Myanmar women have been using the Tanaka bark for thousand of years.  There are other variants of this cream. The pink one helps with pigmentation. Sometimes I would use it at night and leave the cream on as it is like the cool powder or bedak sejuk.I still have some left . My mother too bought one for her eczema but it did not help much .

Last week we had a kenduri to celebrate  my sister and brother and their family who came back from Riyadh and Seychelles. It is also to wish my aunty and her children farewell . My aunty is from Mecca and had not been to Malaysia for 22 years. Happy New Year  !!!!

Mustika Ratu Lulur Kocok

I have used this scrub for a long time. Lulur Kocok  is a wonderful body scrub from Mustika Ratu. It is yellow in colour .This scrub is under the Ratu Mas brand where there are  other products such as a shower gel, moisturiser and another cream  scrub called the lulur  Mas Sinangling. The scrub is in a bottle.
You need to shake the bottle and then apply it  on dry skin. I usually wait for a few seconds or sometimes a few minutes . Then you scrub the body. Lulur is a traditional scrub made of  temugiring, kemuning and tumeric. I like the smell of this scrub and my body feel soft after using this scrub. There are two variants of this scub , one is white called Seruni and another yellow called Sri Gading .  I used to  buy this scrub at the  Mydin store at Jalan Masjid India but nowadays I buy this scrub at a kiosk at Tesco Mutiara Damansara. The price of this scrub is RM 18.00 but perhaps you can get it cheaper at Mydin stores.

Avon Reversalist Illuminating Eye System

I had this eye cream since March of this year.  It is a good cream. At first I used it in March then I used their Genics eye cream  which is not good. I had another line on under my eye. Then I used the castor oil. It was good at first then I had rashes under my eye

This eye cream works fine . The under eye lines looks softer but I did not use it because I bought another eye cream . The cream has two side, there is a veil on the upper part and the cream  on the lower part.  The price for this eye cream is RM 69.90.  It is available at all Avon shops and sometimes they have good sales.

Zeodari Soap by Sendayu Tinggi

This is a  body soap from Sendayu Tinggi. I have used this soap for about 4 months. I have some dark spots on my legs . This soap has lightened  my right knee cap and smoothen my skin. It does not really lighten the dark spots. On the whole it is a good soap . I enjoyed using this soap , there are two other soaps from Jamu Ratu Malaya , Sendayu Tinggi's subsidiary company which I have not used. I have used  Sendayu Tinggi's products for  quite some time and  I always go back to them. The price of this soap is RM 15.00 , you can find this soap at Watson's and most local shops .

Neutrogena Deep Clean

My sister Nas commented about Neutrogena one fine day. I have read that it  is one of the choice facial wash for acne prone skin. I  have used this facial cleanser in September . I like this cleanser . It has done a good job to deep clean my pores. I don't really know but my pores seem to be smaller . Maybe it could be the vitamin E or the Revitalift cream I used. It could all be all of these. So in September of this year ,  I had no breakouts until the second week of October. I got rashes and then I went to buy two new soaps. I still have some of the cleanser  left . I would buy this cleanser again soon.  The price of this cleanser is RM 19.90 and it is available at most pharmacies in  Malaysia.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair 11

This  famous night serum has been on my mind for one year. So, when the opportunity arises , I bought one. This serum has been around since 1982. It has been 30 years. I bought the smaller size one  which is 30 ml. It is in a brown plastic bottle with a pipette. At first I used 2 pumps and then I realized that  you need only  one pump. When I first used it , I had a few breakouts. The pimples were small thank goodness. I have been using this night serum for two months , on and off. I have some left . It is good for my skin. My skin looks good and smooth  . I would buy definitely buy it again ,  but it is expensive. The 30 ml bottle price is RM 255 while the 50 ml  is RM 350.00.

Shaklee Supplement

I got to know about Shaklee vitamins back when I stumbled across a blog about a  lady who had good skin after she had chicken pox. Later I found out that there is  a set  for the  skin.The set comprises of Vitamin E, B and C. For better results you can add GLA or ESP. GLA or Gamma Linolenic acid from Borage oil and ESP which is Soy Isolate protein powder.

I thought it was great , so the first vitamin I bought was the vitamin E for RM 149.00.  I think it will last for 4 months . I bought the vitamin E in August. The next month I bought vitamin B , chewable Vitamin C and Alfafa .  So , I have consumed the Vitamin E for 2 months and the rest for one month.  Since I wanted to try to loose weight , this month I bought the ESP and lecithin together. In the two months I consumed the  vitamins I have only two spots and my pores are getting smaller. However now I have some rashes on my forehead . I don't know why . I bought the supplements online from a nice lady and she gave me nice discount too. From the Shaklee facebook I found out that their famous Sustained Vitamin C will be available later at the end of  October 

L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable powder

I wanted  a new powder , so off  I went to buy one after Eid.  I picked the L'Oreal true match powder . The colour which I picked was no W4 in  Natural Beige. The colour is a shade darker than my skin colour . Yikes.  It is a good face powder  nevertheless. It covers most of the imperfections on my face.  My face looks flawless  and  I wonder if I should buy the True Match foundation too  . So this is my current face powder . I bought this powder for RM 46.00 , there was a sales in Watson.

Fucidin Cream

During the festive weeks, I had about 4 pimples cropping out. My sister Nas gave me to try a sodium Fucidate cream  she got from her university hospital. The pimple on my lips dissapeared fast after about 3 day. Later she bought  me a Fucidin cream.  I have used the cream on my pimples and  so far all had subsided. It is an antibiotic cream and the price is RM 23.00.  This is my arsenal against pimple.

L'oreal Revitalift Laser X3

This is my new night cream.  I have not used many L'oreal products in the past .  This is also a new range from Revitalift   . It is a cream which mimics the IPL treatment. There are 3 items in this range  the serum , the cream and the eye cream. I have used this cream for over a month . I find that my pores do get  smaller .  You can use this cream day and night . I used De Wajah  moisturizer during the day.  I am happy with this cream although I have break outs with this cream . I still have pimples. The price for this  cream is RM 69.90 but  I got it for RM 55.00 during the Caring sale .

Heritage Store Castor Oil

I used to buy castor oil from Indian grocery shops in the past. Last month I bought one online. I have another line under my right eye. This time it  is ghastly and  looks like a gash. As age creeps in ,  there will be under eye lines and wrinkles .  Castor oil is  one of the oldest oil known to man , dating back to the ancient Egyptians.  It is also one of the best oil to ward off wrinkles.

 I know that castor oil does help for those who have sparse eyebrows.  I usually take about 5 drops of the oil and massage on my under eye area at night. The line has softened , it has not dissapeared but I think I will have to be patient . I have used the oil for one month. This oil is also used for the Oil Cleaning Method or OCM and  for lustrous hair . I have used it once for the hair I mean  . I have massaged castor oil for my aching knees and it helps. I bought my castor oil from Lemongreen2u.com for RM 35.00 for a 120 ml/bottle.

Clarins Skin Ilusion powder foundation

This is a lovely loose powder foundation my sister ,Yati gave me before Eid . The colour is honey which is in a light beige. It has a nice floral smell. I  used the foundation  alone or sometimes I would use it as a setting powder. The powder is finely milled and I like it. It has a face brush attached into the box,once you turn the top of the square box , the brush falls in place. The face brush is small and packed . The case is beautiful , I have to say.

Avon Anew Genics Treatment Concentrate

There was a sale in June for the  Anew Genics Treatment concentrate. For a limited time , the treatment concentrate was sold along with the Anew eye cream for RM 99.00. The normal price for
this serum is RM 159.00. Since it was a steal , I bought the the serum. Avon claims that you could look 10 years younger using their Anew Genics range. 

The serum is quite thick. I use about three pumps , two for the face and one for the neck . I used it at night along with the Avon White night cream. Now that the night cream is finished I have bought another new night cream.

I find that this treatment serum is good. It has improved my skin . My pores do not look small though.

Ferwhite

I was into glutathione and collagen drink last  two months. There are many beauty drinks which contain glutathione but the most recent ones are Aura White , Ferwhite and Swiss Med. All three are in jars of 400,000 mgm  and 500,000 mgm .

I bought Ferwhite  for  RM 95.00. Nowadays the company which manufacture the drink had produced the 1,000,000 mgm one for RM 139.00.  This drink contains Glutathione , collagen from  Tilapia ,Acaiberry,mangosteen extract ,  hyaluronic  acid  among others  and   vitamins.  I bought the drink  in the mid June .It is in a powdered form and had a strawberry taste.

 At first when I took the drink , I had a bad headache for two days.  I found out that I might not drink more water as prescribed.  I did not get any pimples , and the pimples on  my face did dry out. I was able to sleep soundly. At first I took 1/2 scoop at night , then 1 scoop at night and sometimes 1 scoop in the morning. I was also given a shaker . Some of the benefits of the drink are to whiten the skin, to dry out pimple  and  to keep the face free of pimple , to repair skin and to tighten the skin.

Sea weed

My father has bought  dried seaweed last month. I have known it as food for beauty  . It was all over the net last year as collagen. As it turned out , seaweed do have  good properties.It has many minerals and vitamins especially for the skin. . My father has bought it especially  for his heart.  The dried sea weed comes from Sabah. They have 3 types of  seaweed according to grade. There is yellow , purple and green. You need to boil it in water after you have washed and soak the seaweed for a night. My mother cooks it and the three of us would eat the seaweed once it has been cooled down . It odorless and one can add screwpine leaves to fragrant it .

 This the fourth time my father has bought the seaweed. It is in a 100 grm packet  . There are some sellers online who would sell it in 1 kg or more.  I have not used it for mask though.  I find that my skin looks plumper  .  You need to take 2 to 3  spoonfuls of the chilled jelly , add with syrup or juice in the mornings on an empty stomach or when you retire to bed. You need to refrain from drinking coffe and tea when you consume the jelly  .  The jelly is tasteless and some people cook it with  syrup  The price of the seaweed is RM 15 and you can buy it online or at kioks or jamu shops.

Bourjois Blush No.40 Tea Rose

Bourjois is a French brand which was available in Kuala Lumpur in the 80's in Metro Jaya . I used to look at it their stuff in Sg Wang way back then. It is not available in Malaysia anymore. I think I have bought a brown eye shadow. The brand is available in Dubai and in Riyadh. So this time around, I bought for my self a blusher.It is no.40 , Rose Tea. The colour is deep red . So a little bit will suffice. I wished I had bought another eye shadow but that can be arranged . He he he. The price of this blusher is SR 53. I have used this blush a couple of times. I need a blush brush. I don't have many brushes because I don't  wear makeup most of the times.

I have bought another  Day cream from De Wajah. It is soft and creamy and with yellow colour. This is Ramadhan month   . Last two days , we had a feast as usual with my mother cooking her fabulous fish curry , Yati with her fried shrimps and another vegetable dish, Nas with her kerabu and a  chicken dish , ikan Pari bakar or baked shall we say sting ray and air asam to dip.  I was asked to make cream caramel and GG bought a cake from Secret Recipe. The only family not around is Sadd's,Zahid's  and a few husbands.

At the moment I have a pimple on my forehead which won't go away. I have been using a face pack of garbanzo powder , tumeric , honey and yogurt every other day.  It is working . I have a nicer tone face  and no break outs. I was thinking of buying some oil such as almond oil, argan , tamanu or jojoba oil and some nice essential oil to make a face oil. Then frankinsence essential oil is pricey if you want a renowned essential oil like from Neal's Yard or Culpeper from Zalora. It is better to buy a 30 ml bottle but then again you can make a face oil , two or three times. I wonder ...

Abdul Samad Al Qurashi Tibr Al Oud

This is a very nice bakhoor from Abdul Samad Al Qurashi.  It is agarwood powder .The smell is  lovely and  relaxing. This is the second jar I have , since I loved the smell so much.  I would use it a few times a month depending on my mood.  There are other bakhoor I have yet to try from this company.  I have asked my brother Mal to buy this one for me from Madinah . He is here with his wife for nearly a month.

My sister Nas and Yati are back in Malaysia  with their families. Sadd will be back in August while Zahid and his family won't be coming back this Aidil Fitri  this year.

Tumeric, Neem and Sandalwood mask

 A few years ago, I was into tumeric mask and products. Somehow it fizzled away . This year I wanted to use tumeric mask again. I wanted to buy the Kasturi Manjal which is wild tumeric or Temulawa. When my father went to Wisma Yakin around Jalan Masjid India , he bought a bottle for me. 

I bought the chick pea powder or besan to be used with tumeric powder. At first I tried the tumeric with honey and milk according to the You Tube videos. Then I started using    tumeric , chickpea powder and water only. I used the this mask every alternate day . The next week , I went to KL and stopped at Samy's Cash and Carry store , the same store my father went to . 

 I  bought another bottle of tumeric, sandalwood and neem powder. Along with a bath powder and rosewater  . The girl at the store told me to use a little bit of tumeric.  I think I have used more tumeric and I got two large pimples.  I stopped using the tumeric mask  for awhile. I did use neem powder and rose water on to the pimples.  Later , two nights ago I tried another recipe using 2 tbsp of Greek yogurt , 1/4 tsp tumeric powder and 1/2 tsp sandalwood powder. This recipe can be used 4 times . 

The price of the tumeric powder is RM 2.90 for 50 grms, while the neem powder and sandalwood powder is RM 3.50 each for 50 grms.  The rose water is RM 4.90 for 125 ml.  All the powder are from Srri Easwari Mills Sdn Bhd and could be found in most  Indian grocery stores . I have enough powders to use as a face  mask  or body mask for  a few months to come. I can use the powders with yogurt , honey or lime juice . The list is endless.

Kokuryu Super Summer Cake

This is another gift from my sister Nas in Riyadh. It is a face powder . One has to use it with the big puff provided. This face powder is popular . It is also called the Arab powder . This face powder or Summer cake is manufactured in the Phillipines with Japanese technology.

There are many colours to choose from , I got the Orange Blush which is suitable for fair skin  .The Russet one is suitable for  most Malay  skin. Some of the benefits of this powder are , it can last for 8 hours , it can be used for prayers, it could dry pimples , it is a 3 in 1  -moisturiser , foundation and powder all in one and it does not darken the skin. Furthermore the skin looks better when you sweat.

The way to use this powder is to  dampen the puff , squeeze the puff and apply the powder.  I normally wet my face then moisten the puff and then apply on the face. My face looked powdered but then it is ok. This powder comes in two sizes , 25grm and 50 grm.The price varies  from RM 45 TO RM 70 depending on the seller .You can buy this powder online . This powder can last up to 3 months or more . Thank you Nas for this powder .

Jamu Ratu Malaya Bio Calamine Essence

I have  used Calamine lotion in the past for any irritation on my face and other parts of the body. A few months ago I bought this product since it has the pink calamine and other herbs . It has a certain smell but it is not unpleasant.
 Some of the benefits of this lotion which is also a medicated cooling powder or bedak sejuk are for skin  irritation ,  pimples , to get rid of dead cells , insect bites  and eczema.  I have used this calamine lotion for a pimple two days ago. You have to shake the bottle first and apply after shower or bath. The pimple came to a head after two days with twice application day and night. I am happy to use this product as I have used calamine lotion in the past . The price for this lotion is RM 19.90 . You can find it at most Jamu kiosks or buy it on line.

Elianto Eye Shadow

Sugar brown on top and Toffee brown below

I have two Elianto eyeshadow in the brown shade. One is toffee brown from the Luminous shadow  and another Sugar brown from the Sheen shadow  range  . I like the Sugar brown more . Both are pigmented.  There are many colours to choose from . The toffee brown is more matte and the colour is nearly black . I don't wear it much though. Maybe when I am in the mood to do the smokey eye once in awhile.

 I thought of buying a few more colours  and buy their eye shadow case. Perhaps a black and a gold colour and all the other  shades of brown available. Their  eyeshadow is very affordable which is  around RM 9.00 to RM 12.00 and their shops are in  most malls in town.

Bioderma Sensibio H20

This is another product which I cannot resist  buying. Like many others I first saw this  product in the You Tube videos. This is said to be very good and one of the best out there . It is a micellar water made in France. There are other  companies produce micellar solution  apart from this company such as Avene, Melvita ,Yves Rocher and Lancome .

I bought this cleanser at a pharmacy in  Al Bait shopping centre which is in the Zam Zam tower in Mecca. It could also be found in the Boots pharmacy. It is very easy to  take off makeup with this cleanser . I normally use 3 cotton pads to do so.  However , I find that it stings a bit when I want to take off the eye liner. There is another variant for the cleanser which is for combination skin.
The price for this cleanser is SR 84 which is around RM 70 .  This cleanser is not available at any major pharmacies in Malaysia  at the moment. However , one can get this cleanser online from the local companies such as Impian Wanita and Serendipity.com.Would I buy this cleanser again ? Perhaps  the bigger bottle.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick in 122 and 161

Whenever I go overseas , I usually buy a lipstick or two. I love Guerlain lipsticks . This particular lipstick  is available since 2011.

 So this time I bought two at the duty free store in KLIA .  One is 161 in Cherry Blossom  and another  one a  deep red lipstick  , in no. 122 called Liu. Guerlain  do have nice red lipsticks  , Vega and Samsara looked tempting  . I was looking for Le Heure Bleue in 168  but it was not available.  The 161 lipstick  is a very pale pink. It looks more like a shine than lip colour but I liked it too. Since red lipstick   is in vogue this year ,  I thought of buying another red lipstick . 

Guerlain lipstick is sold at SAR 184 in Saudi while it is RM 109.00 at the duty free shop in KLIA .

Sendayu Tinggi Golden Herb's Soap

 I have used this soap for  one and half months too. Actually I wanted to buy the Antheia soap but when I went to the regular seller in Tesco  Mutiara Damansara, she did not have the Antheia soap so I bought this soap instead. When I went to have tea at the Santai restaurant , I saw another seller who also sells mostly Malay products .  She does sell the Antheia soap and has more products.

This soap has been sold for quite awhile. From the reviews I have read it is very good to dry large pimples. When I used it, I still have small pimples but it was not  so serious . I use  another product and the faithful Oxy 10.  According to the soap packaging , this golden herbal soap is formulated with honey and Ganoderma Lucidem , lightening agent which smoothens , lightens , clean dirt that cause pimple and rejuvenate the skin for a healthier and firmer skin.

I find that this soap help with the pigmentation and the blemishes. I like this soap and have bought another one today. The price of this soap is RM 15.00.You  can find this soap at the Sendayu Tinggi 's aisle in Watson's or at most kiosks in shopping malls such as  Giant or Tesco. Sendayu Tinggi  cosmetics are also sold in Watson's One Utama .

Anew 360° White Day and Night cream

I have used the Anew 360 Protective day cream and the Revitalizing night cream for over a month . These creams are not only for those in their 20's. It is formulated for those who have damaged skin like I have . I have two unsightly blemishes  before I left Malaysia. After one month those blemishes dissapeared. Yayy !! 

I am glad I used this cream  , after awhile , I just used the day cream and it was fine. The normal price for the creams at 30gm is RM 89.90 . There is a sale for the both the day cream and night cream at RM 59.90 with a free Anew Reversalist eye cream. I gave one for my mother and another for my self. At first I just wanted to get the Anew Genics eye cream. I will wait for another sale for the 30 grm size .

Al khobar vacation and Riyadh

Last two days, we went to Al Khobar for a short vacation. Mal came to Riyadh for the trip. I have been quite unwell these past week. I have been given the nebulizer twice  .We went to Al Khobar which is by the sea. My sisters had booked the night at the Holiday Inn Half Moon bay resort. We started our journey from 8.00  in the morning and it was  3 or 4 hours when we reached the city. There was a sand storm .  We went to a traditional restaurant for lunch and a chinese restaurant at night.
After Al Khobar we went back to Riyadh. The last few days were spent in Nas, Yati and Sadd's houses. My sister Yati brought us to the  Centuria Mall , an upscale mall for lunch at the Noodle House restaurant , and then last minute shopping at Tiba Market for night gowns for my aunts. The next day was lunch at Riyadh gallery. There's Boots pharmacy and Sephora at Riyadh gallery. There's Gazzas for perfume.  We went back on the 11 th April , after nearly one month. It was a wonderful vacation.  I had a great time and being  able to perform Umrah at last. Thank you dear sisters.

Madinah Munawarah

Last Saturday my parents,Mal and I went to Madinah from Mecca by van. We arrived at the hotel about 4.30 pm. After that we went to the Nabawi mosque which is a the short distance. The next few days we woke up early for Suboh prayers at the mosque. After that we have breakfast in the room. We went to a Chinese restaurant at the Al noor mall twice . Mal brought us to visit the Quba mosque,the Uhud mountain ,the Quran factory and to drink camel milk one morning. The camel milk is very strong as I had stomach upset soon after. Apart from going to the mosque we also had dinner at a few of Mal's favourite restaurants. We had camel meat one night.It was tasty. There are many bazaars near the mosque. Small shops and good bargain. Mal too loves to go to Abdul Samad Qureshi shops. There are about three shops in Madinah . One at the Dar Taqwa,another at the Madinah Hilton another  I am not sure where .
In Mecca their shops are at the Al Bait shopping mall and at the Mecca Hilton . My mother bought a bakhoor from Ajmal.My father too had made three jubah for himself at a good tailor and my mother goes shopping for my siblings and the grand children. We had a nice time in Madinah , The food is good especially the Taza chicken. Taza restaurant was around in KL a few years ago.  After seven days we are now in Riyadh again. I pray that I will have the chance to be in Madinah again.

Makkatul Mukarramah

After 27 years, I am back in the holy city of Mecca. Alhamdulillah.All of us four sisters, their families ,my parents and myself flew to Jeddah.We stayed at a hotel nearby.After freshening up , we went to perform umrah. It is my first time to do so.  My Tawaf  partner was my sister Yati. After Saie, we went back to the hotel. The next night we went to visit my aunt's sister. I stayed at her house for two weeks the last time I went there.
 There is a nice shopping mall the Al Bait shopping gallery at the clock tower. Today is the last day in Mecca . How sad , insha Allah, I pray that I can come back here again to perform Hajj . After this ,Mal who came all the way  from Madinah will take the three of us to Madinah Munawarrah. 

Ahlan wasahlan

I am now in Riyadh with my parents . My kind sisters had sponsored this trip. Jazakallah hu khair.  We are here for one month and insha allah we will perform umrah on Wednesday. We arrived in Riyadh last Wednesday. Our flight was the Sri Lanka air. We stayed in Sadd's house for two days. Yati's house is very near which is on the same floor. We ate most of the time. We had arabian food the next night.  Now we are at Nas's house. We went to Al Mamlaka mall last night. There I saw my favourite shop. Abdul Samad Al Quraishi and I bought Jedayel hair oil for my mother,sister and myself. Nas gave me the bakhoor. Nas said that Riyadh Gallery has more people. We got the chance to go up the sky bridge of the Mamlaka tower. The price for the hair oil is SAR 60 while the bakhoor is SAR 80.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

This is another gift from my kind sister,  Nas.  I wanted to try this pure calcium bentonite clay from Arizona.  It is said to be very good especially for acne prone skin . My sister Nas had ordered the clay from Iherb.com. We decided to get it sent to Malaysia through DHL  Global Airmail. The package came to the house safely  at last after 20 days.

The colour of the clay is pale green. I have used the clay 4 times .  I have used only water  for the clay all this while. From the reviews it is best to use the clay with apple cider vinegar.  I have not hunt for Braggs just yet   , maybe next month. When I use it with water , it does tend to be clumpy . It does pulsate but not very hard. I washed  off the mask  with warm water and sometimes , with the muslin cloth.  The first two times I used  the mask , I have tiny pimples the  next few days. I am not sure it is because of the mask  or because of the Golden Horse products . After 4 times , I did not get any pimple . I have yet to try this mask with apple cider vinegar. The price for this mask is USD 12.00 inclusive of postage for a  1 lb jar.
